Civil Union

Civil Unions can be a powerful symbol of reaffirming your love and declaring your life-long commitment to each other in front of family and friends. The ceremony can include readings, sharing wine or bread, unity ceremonies with candles or sand, handfasting or other cultural, historic or religious traditions. You may also want to include making each other executor of your wills and giving power of attorney. Because commitments don't have legal recognition in most parts of Australia at present, there are no legal requirements or restrictions so you can have your ceremony exactly as you would like it!
